About This Position
The Energy & Sustainability research group at TU Delft, led by Professor Anna de Vries, is seeking a talented PhD researcher to contribute to the energy transition. TU Delft is globally recognized for its engineering excellence and has a strong focus on solving real-world sustainability challenges. The research will focus on developing optimization models and decision-support tools for integrating large-scale renewable energy (solar and wind) into existing electricity grids, with a focus on the European energy market. You will work closely with energy companies, grid operators, and policymakers in the Netherlands and beyond. The position is fully funded for four years under the NWO (Dutch Research Council) VIDI grant. The salary follows the CAO (Dutch collective labor agreement) for research positions, starting at EUR 2,871/month (scale P) in year 1 and increasing to EUR 3,670/month in year 4. The Netherlands is one of the most progressive countries in the world in terms of sustainability policy and renewable energy adoption, making this an incredibly relevant and impactful research environment.
