The Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Networks are the European Union flagship PhD funding program under the Horizon Europe framework. These networks bring together universities, research institutions, and industry partners across multiple EU countries to train the next generation of doctoral researchers. PhD candidates are recruited as fully employed researchers with a monthly salary, mobility allowance, family allowance, and research training budget. These are employment contracts, meaning scholars receive full social and pension benefits. Researchers of any nationality worldwide are eligible to apply, provided they meet the 12-month mobility rule. Fields covered span all disciplines including natural sciences, engineering, social sciences, humanities, health, and economics. Individual positions are advertised year-round on EURAXESS by network partners, with most deadlines falling between October and March each year. This is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious doctoral programs in the world.
